When I think of bull fighting I think of a scared animal putting its life in danger for the sake of entertainment for humans. This is a sad reality that unfortunately happens to more animals than we think. I cannot imagine what it feels like to fight someone against my own will and knowing that it will not stop until I am dead. These poor horses have done nothing wrong and their treatment is unacceptable. "The whole bull fight is indefensible; there is certainly much cruelty, there is always danger and there is always death and I shall not try to defend it now."(732) There is no justifiable reason that bull fighting is okay. Putting innocent animals in danger says a lot about how we value animals. What do we get out of killing an innocent animal? A sense of pride or accomplishment? Does this give the man the macho feeling? At some point we must realize that animals deserve respect too.
"If they sincerely identify themselves with animals they will suffer terribly , more so, perhaps, than the horse" (747)
When watching bull fighting, I can imagine there are a million things running through a person's mind. One thing that most likely does not run through a person's mind is how scared the bull is. When a person sympathizes with the animal, there is no way the can enjoy what they are witnessing. Imagine what it would be like to be a fragile animal entering into an arena with the crowd cheering with excitement to see you suffer. Bullfighting is defined as "a traditional spectacle of Spain, Portugal, parts of southern France and some Latin America countries in which one or more bulls are fought by humans in a bullring. " Bull fighting is also known as a blood sport and is something that should have been banned a long time ago.
